Bill Doherty,
Trainer & Assessor
Bill had 35 years experience in the motor industry before moving into health and social care, a sort of “from car to care” in 2006. Bill began as a support worker for a company based in Gosforth Newcastle supporting people with learning disabilities, he now manages several care homes within this company.
Over the last four years Bill has obtained his PGCE and a foundation degree in training and work based learning and the TAQA (assessors) award.
Bill trains in house, and for Winnovation, he has also undertaken part time lecturing at Northumberland College. Bill is also an accredited safeguarding trainer for Newcastle Adult Safeguarding Board. Bills speciality is facilitated learning, he prides himself in his learners not only getting something from his training, but enjoying the experience. Bills motto is; “people learn when they enjoy”.
