Claire Pitchford,
Managing Director
Claire has worked within the field of Children and Families for over a decade. She holds a Degree in Social Sciences (Psychology), a Diploma in Social Work and a PGCE. Alongside this Claire has an ILM level 5 certificate in Management and is a qualified QCF assessor.
Claire spent many years within children’s residential homes caring for young people aged 8-19 across the North East, most recently managing homes and delivering training to staff. For 5 years she volunteered as director and trustee of the local young people’s charity "Eye of the Fly", which provides an alternative education for individuals and groups, targeting the vulnerable, neglected and disadvantaged.
Claire has a particular interest in the care of Looked After Children and provides most of her training within this field. Most recently Claire developed a "Specialist Foster Care" training programme, which is delivered throughout the UK. Alongside this, the Winnovation team have created a fantastic new lifeskills "What Is Next?" programme to prepare young people aged 15-21 to leave care and live independently www.whatisnext.org.uk.
Through her work Claire has developed a passion for ensuring young people achieve the best outcomes possible and this underpins all of her work.
